HO!HO!AARGHHHHHHHH!!

Well, i never did get Channel Evil #2 finished by the end of November, and looks like i won't be getting there before the new year arrives.
I tried, damn it i tried, but little seems to be going right in my world.
Won't go on at great length about illness and low morale and the general day-to-day frustration/despair, but i obviously feel shit about letting everyone down, most especially my ever-patient editor Alexander Finbow.
I have problems, and I realise I've got to get myself in a fit shape, not just physically but mentally. Some of these problems are deep-set and have been with me for many, many years, don't think I've ever really addressed them or taken them seriously enough. Agen, too complex to go into, and too personal.
I love storytelling, i love taking things outta my head and seeing them come alive on paper, and it's what i want to do for the rest of my life. And if it wasn't for the love and support of my friends, parents and guiding light Suzanne, i would've crumbled to dust a long time ago.

Thankyou all.

See you in 2010, where you'll be meeting a new, much improved Shane Oakley.
Hope you have a splendid Xmas.

Superb image Shane... hope you and your family have a great Christmas and we can all see the rest of Channel Evil in 2010. I can understand the frustrations as I've been there many times. Talent like yours will always win in the end.

Excellent art again, Sir.
Fully sympathise with your plight. As much as I want more Channel Evil, a fit happy heathly Oakley is far more important
Wishing you all the best for Christmas and New Year.

Sometimes things have to fall apart before they can be put back together.

Have faith in yourself and your tremendous talents to see you through, and hang in there!

Totally Fucking wicked Shane!
Love it!
And let the bad times feed your art and let your art lift you out of the bad times.
As usual your visuals are an inspiration!

You, Sir, should be in the Christmas card industry. And you can have that idea for a 10% cut of the proceeds.

Here's to 2010 being a healthier year. :)

Sterling work as always.
Wishing you a great New Year start and I'll be with you for the next issue of Channel Evil and more.
Enjoy the festive time with your family and loved ones as it's the best health tonic around.

Heres hoping the new decade is a fruitful one for us all.

thankyou.

if david tennant's last episode of DR.WHO hadn't robbed me of tears, i'd be welling up.

seriously, i know it can come over a bit trite sometimes, but your well wishes and words of support REALLY do mean a lot to me.

drawing pictures and getting paid for it IS a dream job, but it can have it's dark side.
last year was filled with deadline-scuppering illness, stress and panic. but along with that came an increasing sense of isolation and detachment, not just because of the physical nature of the work, more my moods taking me to a lonesome place. and though i firmly believe that modern life is mostly rubbish i thank ye gods for our PC and this blog. it's kept my brain and art moving and found connections that make my world a better place.
friends, fellow bloggers, kindred souls, you do make all the difference.

i have my 2010 plans laid out(including getting my arse to a convention or two, the drinks are on YOU, dave) and i'm already busy improving my day-to-day existence and seeking help for mind and body.

and, dare i say it, i'm starting to feel that old fire-in-the-belly excitement i did way back at the start of CEVIL #1.
watch this space!
