Three illustrations done for Little Shoppe of Horrors #23, spotlighting John Gilling's Plague of the Zombies and The Reptile, two of Hammer's finest.
The issue includes the usual intensive research, in-depth interviews, movie posters, rare stills/photographs, and plenty of artwork from, among others; top bloke and top talent Neil Vokes, Ade Salmon, and the Mighty Bruce Timm.

These are all beautiful illustrations Shane.
The angle on the second one is really unsettling. I don't know how you drew it but it looks amazing!
Wonderful mood and atmosphere in them all. I like the experimentation with techniques in the first!
Great!!!
These are tops, mat.
All three are corkers and
I especially like the "mosaic effect" on the first piccie.
I love them all, but especially the first one! So wonderful!!
bucky - thankyou, kind sir!
i really love doing these illustrations. obviously the subject matter rings my bell, but it also gives me the opportunity to play around with composition and technique.
some mummies coming next!
gary - cheers, mat/mate.
the 'mosaic effect' was a customized brush i made from an old scrap of zip-a-tone.
belle - thanx. dont'think i'd ever get bored of drawing zombies in old graveyards. and it's easy to be inspired by such a great movie...
